The Ventura Fire Foundation, established in 2014 by Ventura City firefighters, is a nonprofit organization passionately devoted to “helping the helpers”—firefighters and their families—during times of need. Guided by its Benevolent Fund, the Foundation extends critical financial support to families in crisis, especially when fires or emergencies displace or challenge them. Beyond financial aid, it actively raises awareness around mental health struggles inherent to first responders and fosters resilience through initiatives like the Firehouse Roundtable podcast. Moreover, it produces meaningful community events such as the Firefighters’ Ball and the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, strengthening both solidarity and public recognition of firefighters’ sacrifices
The six Gold Coast Toyota Dealers have donated three Toyota 4X4 Trail Edition 4Runners to the Santa Barbara Zoo to help with local conservation activities.
This generous donation helps allow the Field Conservation Team to continue their study and help protect our local animals in the rugged back country of the Sespe Wilderness Area. The Zoo’s commitment to conservation and environmental protection align perfectly with Toyota’s ongoing green movement.
Conservation is at the heart of the Santa Barbara Zoo mission. Not only are we dedicated to connecting our guests to nature, educating people of all ages, contributing important research, and supporting outside conservation organizations, but we are directly contributing to field work in our own backyard! The Throwdown Cornhole Festival – Aug 22, 23 & 24
The Throw Down Cornhole Festival in Ventura is a three-day celebration of fun, competition, and community—held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds and widely recognized as the largest cornhole festival in the world. Originating as a casual end-of-summer gathering, it has burgeoned into a massive event drawing over 1,000 teams from across the U.S. and beyond. The main tournament features massive payouts—over $300,000 in guaranteed cash prizes—and includes special brackets like Women’s Doubles, Crew Cup, and Blind Draws.
