Toyota Safety Sense™ is a suite of advanced safety features that comes standard on the vast majority of new Toyota vehicles. These systems use radar, cameras, and more to monitor road conditions, manage traction levels, and watch out for unexpected events that could cause a collision. • Automatic High Beams – A windshield-mounted camera helps to detect headlights and taillights of other vehicles while you drive at night.
• Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (also available with Bicyclist Detection) -An integrated camera and radar system monitors surrounding traffic, giving you more time to respond when another vehicle or a pedestrian may cause a collision.
• Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (also available with Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control) – Along with a windshield mounted camera, a radar located behind the Toyota badge detects your following distance and can automatically adjust your speed to keep a safe distance.
• Lane Departure Alert (also available with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection) – This system sends an alert if you veer from your lane without signaling a lane change.
• Lane Tracing Assist – Working in concert with the Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) to detect lane markers, this system helps to keep your vehicle centered in its lane.
• Road Sign Assist – A forward-facing intelligent camera detects signs (speed limit, stop, do not enter, yield, and more) and displays them on the MID.

What is Toyota Safety Sense™ P?

Toyota Safety Sense™ P (or TSS-P) is an advanced active safety package for mid-size and large Toyota models like crossovers and SUVs. TSS-P consists of four active safety and driver assistance systems:

• Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection
• Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
• Lane Departure Alert (LDA)
• Automatic High Beams (AHB)
